Christmas at Lake Como 2020 ,La Città dei Balocchi is a unique Christmas Festival in Como. This event transforms the city of Como into a playful and magical Christmas location. Originally intended for local families and children, the event has opened up to a broader audience offering a variety of activities: from enterteinment to shopping, from sacred music to childrens’ labs and shows. This year’s theme is “the star” and stars will be everywhere in Como this Christmas.
La Città dei Balocchi si also a great tourism catalyst. The 2017 Edition is as ever a great opportunity to visit Lake Como’s main city in a season that offers unique atmospheres. Many families and kids from Italy, Switzerland and many other countries have been participating to the festival every Holiday Season, enjoying it thoroughly.

27th EDITION of Como Città dei Balocchi
Como Città dei Balocchi opens to everyone with a magical Christmas Lights Show that includes not only traditional city festive lights, but also bespoke video-mapping installations on historical buildings. A large Christmas Market will complement the good shopping offer of the city pedestrian centre, moreover, tourists and visitors can also go ice skating in piazza Cavour thanks to a 400 square meter ice skating rink. The ice-skating rental fees go to the Blue Cross (charity funding).
Kids can also enjoy the XVII century carousel in piazza Volta. At night Como will surprise you with the suggestive “Como Magic Light Festival”, Christmas lights on Como’s buildings in piazza Duomo, piazza Verdi, piazza Grimoldi, piazza Volta, piazza San Fedele and two suburban locations like the Ponte Chiasso church and the Quarcino church.
The Info Point tourist office in the Broletto building is also worth a visit to get additional information about this year’s edition of the Festival.
